Spay and Neuter
Due to the overpopulation problem and not enough good homes to place unwanted dogs PBPP encourages spay and neutering of all dogs who are not professionally shown, participant in trial/agility activities , law dogs or have medical reasons.

Spay/Neuter is
good for your pet…
Spaying and Neutering:
• Helps dogs and cats live longer, healthier lives.
• Eliminates or reduces a number of health problems
that are difficult or expensive
to treat.
• Eliminates testicular cancer and greatly reduces prostate
cancer.
• Eliminates uterine and ovarian cancer.
• Greatly reduces mammary cancers, especially when
done before her first heat
cycle.
good for you…
Spaying and Neutering:
• Makes pets better, more affectionate companions.
• Decreases or eliminates spraying or marking.
• Eliminates the heat cycle. Females in heat cry incessantly, show neurotic
behavior, and attract unwanted
male animals.
• Makes pets less likely to roam the neighborhood,
run away, jump fences
and get into fights.
Good for the Community!
• The county spends millions each year to control unwanted animals.
• Last year, over 27,000 dogs and cats died in local shelters because
there were not enough homes .
• Stray pets and homeless animals get into trash, defecate in public
areas, frighten and anger people
who have no understanding of their
misery or needs.
